The agency saddled with the responsibility of registering companies in Nigeria, the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced the commencement of its services online.

Also, the commission said as part of its efforts to meet the demands of those who hope to do business with the CAC, it has now extended its operating hours till 7pm every weekdays.

The commission, in a notice on its website, said this took effect from Monday, March 6, 2017, and stressed that name search application will now be approved same day for requests submitted latest by 7pm.

According to the review done by the agency, new registration for companies, business names and incorporated trustees will now be processed same day for filings made before 5pm in its Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Enugu and Port Harcourt offices.

It said all post incorporation filings for part A, B and C will be processed within 24 hours, while consent, winding up, receivership filings made in the head offices will be processed within 24 hours.

In the latest review, despatch of certificates, Certified True Copies (CTC) of filed documents will be carried out till 7pm on Monday to Friday in Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Kaduna and Enugu.

CAC further said, customers “can now scan, and upload their incorporation documents for processing through our document upload interface available” on its website, adding that it will “approve the application on the strength of the scanned documents print registration certificate certify the MEMART and Form CAC 1.1.”

It noted that, “The original documents will now be submitted by customers at the point of collection of the certificate of registration and the certified true copies of the incorporation document,” emphasising that it “must be satisfied that the original documents are the same with the copies already scanned before releasing the Certificate of registration and the CTCs.”
