On Friday, October 11 2024, Ms Oluwatoyin Atanda was elected as the 54th President of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nigeria, an organisation with over 7,000 enterprising young leaders and an alumni network spanning across 30 states in the country.

Known for her remarkable leadership, tenacity, and commitment to excellence, Ms Atanda is set to guide JCI Nigeria into a new era of growth and impact under the theme, ELV8.

Ms Atanda, a long-standing member of JCI Nigeria since 2009, has consistently demonstrated her ability to deliver results through her detailed, values-driven approach. She has earned widespread admiration for her strong work ethic and unwavering dedication to empowering young leaders across Nigeria.

In her new role, she aims to deepen JCI Nigeria’s engagement with key stakeholders, government, businesses, and civil society, uniting them to collaborate on sustainable development initiatives.

Her goal is to develop leaders who would have an influence on Nigeria and the world community, going beyond national boundaries.

In 2025, Ms Atanda will focus on executing several flagship projects, including the ELV8 Mentorship & Exchange Program, which will equip members with leadership skills, provide employability training, and create socioeconomic opportunities.

She also plans to revitalize the JCI Nigeria Training Institute to offer world-class leadership development and professional training. By strengthening initiatives like the Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) program and increasing partnerships with the private sector, she intends to boost member engagement and deliver lasting impact across all JCI platforms.

In her inaugural speech, Ms Atanda said, “I am honoured to lead JCI Nigeria at such a pivotal time. Our journey ahead is about ELV8ing our members, our organization, and our nation. Together, we will work towards a future that embodies innovation, inclusiveness, and sustainable progress.”

Ms Atanda’s presidency is expected to inspire transformational change, as she mobilizes Nigeria’s youth, fosters community development, and positions JCI Nigeria as a leader in social impact both locally and globally.
