The nation has again been thrown into another blackout after the national grid collapsed for the 10th time in 2024 on Thursday, November 7.
The last breakdown in the grid occurred before 11:30 am, information gathered by Business Post revealed.
Some energy distribution companies (DisCos) in the country have already informed their customers of the latest developments.
“We wish to inform you that a system disturbance occurred on the national grid at about 11:29 am today (Thursday), causing a power outage across our franchise areas.
“At this time, approximately 98 per cent of our customers remain affected due to grid limitations.
“Please be assured that we are coordinating closely with relevant stakeholders to restore power fully as soon as the grid is stabilised,” a message from Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) said.
This is the second time the national grid has collapsed this week.
On Tuesday, the grid broke down for the fourth time in three weeks at about 1:52 pm only to be restored in the wee hours of the next day.
“We experienced a system outage today, November 5, 2024, at 13:52Hrs affecting supply within our network.
“Restoration of supply is ongoing in collaboration with our critical stakeholders,” a statement from Ikeja Electric said.
