Unlisted Securities Exchange Rises 1.15% in Trading Week 46

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange appreciated by 1.15 per cent in the 46th trading week of the year.
This was after seven securities ended on the price gainers’ chart, overpowering the losses recorded by three securities in the five-day trading week.
Nipco Plc gained 20.8 per cent to end at N130.90 per share versus the preceding week’s N108.35 per share, Costain West Africa Plc jumped by 10 per cent to settle at 55 Kobo per unit compared with the preceding week’s 50 Kobo per unit, and Okitipupa Plc improved by 9.9 per cent to N22.35 per share from N20.32 per share.
Further, UBN Property Plc rose by 7.2 per cent to close at N1.79 per unit, in contrast to N1.67 per unit of the previous week, Afriland Properties Plc grew by 5.2 per cent to N17.68 per share from N16.38 per share, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc expanded by 4.7 per cent to N22.50 per unit from N21.50 per unit, and 11 Plc increased by 3.0 per cent to N213.25 share from N207.00 per share.
When trading activities ended for the week, the market capitalisation of the platform went up by N12.08 billion to N1.059 trillion from N1.047 trillion and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (USI) soared by 34.47 points to 3,021.99 points from 2,987.52 points.
Business Post reports last week, Acorn Petroleum Plc declined further by 4.1 per cent to end at N1.89 per unit versus Week 45’s value of N1.97 per unit, FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc slid by 2.4 per cent to N43.90 share versus N45.00 per share, and Geo-Fluids retreated by 0.3 per cent to N3.89 per unit from N3.90 per unit.
In the week, the value of trades went down by 28.8 per cent to N59.9 million from N84.2 million, the volume of transactions shrank by 87.8 per cent to 8.45 million units from 69.13 million units, and the number of deals increased by 69.5 per cent to 100 deals from 59 deals.
Geo-Fluids Plc was the most active stock by value in the week with N65.7 million, followed by UBN Property Plc with N6.7 million, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc recorded N4.3 million, Acorn Petroleum Plc reported N2.0 million, and CSCS Plc posted N1.9 million.
Also, Geo-Fluids Plc was the most traded security by volume with 63.5 million units, trailed by UBN Property Plc with 4.03 million units, Acorn Petroleum Plc exchanged 1.02 million units, Capital Bancorp Plc transacted 0.285 million units, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc traded 0.096 million units.
