Ex-Education Minister, Prof Babalola Borishade, is Dead

A former Minister of Education, Professor Babalola Borishade, has been reported dead in a London hospital on Wednesday.

Prof Borishade was the Minister of Education between February 2001 and May 2003 under the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Last week, the former Minister was taken to Reddington Hospital in Lagos and was later flown to London, where he died today.

According to reports, Prof Borishade, aged 71, died as a result of lung and heart–related illness.

The late Borishade was born in Usi- Ekiti on March 7, 1946 into the Ebi Ilotin family.

During his lifetime, he served the country in various capacities, especially in the education sector.
