Mrs Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, left the shores of the country to meet with her husband, who is presently in the United Kingdom for a medical vacation.
Mr Buhari left Nigeria some days ago for a medical follow-up after his first of such trip to the UK earlier this year.
Before he travelled this month, the President’s health became a national issue and there were reports that his health was seriously failing him.
Speculations about Mr Buhari’s health became rife when he was rarely seen in public and state functions. It was made worse when his wife was also not seen in public, giving rumour mongers the opportunity to capitalise on this to spread various rumours about the country’s President.
Yesterday, a media aide to Mrs Buhari, Adebisi Olumide Ajayi, disclosed that the First Lady left for the United Kingdom, where she “will spend some time with her Husband, the President, Muhammadu Buhari, who is presently on medical vacation.”
Olumide Ajayi noted that Mrs Buhari “expressed her appreciation to the millions of Nigerians who have been praying for his (Mr Buhari) quick and safe return.”
However, she did not state when the President’s wife is expected to return to the country.
