Pastor Okonkwo Unveils Matchmaking Platform, Charges N700,000 for Membership

A Nigerian relationship cleric, Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo, has launched a matchmaking platform, Mentor To Marry,

Mr Okonkwo, who leads David’s Christian Centre, said the platform helps Christian singles find intentional and God-centred relationships.

Membership of the matchmaking platform is in three levels, with the lowest package costing N70,000 per annum. The premium package costs N350,000 per annum, while the VIP package goes for N700,000 per annum, though a free community option is reportedly available for singles who are not ready to commit financially to the paid membership packages.

Membership does not guarantee that users will find a partner or get married. It also has strict rules prohibiting harassment, fraud, catfishing and explicit content, it was emphasised, but Mr Okonkwo noted that Mentor To Marry will connect serious, godly and well-mentored singles from different parts of the world.

“I can assure you that not all women are in relationships for business. There are a lot of good women looking to connect with serious, godly men on our platform,” he said.

Unlike conventional dating platforms, Mentor To Marry requires intending members to undergo an eight-week process involving mentoring classes, personal assessments and guided reflection before gaining access to its matchmaking services.

In a post on his X handle on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the cleric expressed worry for “men of this generation” because “relationships have been so commercialised nowadays that it’s almost impossible for a young man to find true love.”

According to him, “When we were young, all you had to get was a girl’s phone number, but now all they want to send is their account number. Now, you are expected to pay rent, school fees and transport before you are taken seriously.”
