Four Securities Lift NASD OTC Exchange by 1.67%

Four securities lifted the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange by 1.67 per cent on Monday, August 31, reversing the losses from the recent bearish runs.

The price advancers were led by 11 Plc, which gained N12.41 to close at N232.61 per unit compared with the previous price of N220.20 per unit. FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc appreciated by N9.29 to N150.29 per share from N141.00 per share, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc added N3.94 to trade at N90.00 per unit versus N86.06 per unit, and Food Concepts Plc improved by 1 Kobo to N2.51 per share from N2.50 per share.

As a result, the market capitalisation increased by N42.54 to N2.584 trillion from N2.542 trillion, and the NASD Security Index (NSI) soared by 70.87 points to 4,306.78 from 4,258.51 points.

Yesterday, the price of Geo-Fluids Plc was down by 1 Kobo to N1.86 per unit from N1.87 per unit.

The volume of transactions for the session rose by 4.1 per cent to 1.2 million units from the previous session’s 1.1 million units, and the value of trades surged by 51.9 per cent to N51.9 million from N18.2 million, while the number of deals slid by 29.3 per cent to 29 deals from 41 deals.

When the market closed for the day, Great Nigeria Insurance (GNI) Plc remained the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis, with 3.4 billion units sold for N8.4 billion, followed by Infrastructure Credit Guarantee (Infracredit) Plc with 2.3 billion units traded for N6.5 billion, and CSCS Plc with 80.1 million units transacted for N5.8 billion.

GNI Plc also closed the session as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis, with 3.4 billion units exchanged for N8.4 billion, followed by Infracredit Plc with 2.3 billion units worth N6.5 billion, and Resourcery Plc with 1.1 billion units valued at N415.7 million.
