UEFA Names Allianz Arena, Camp Nou Hosts for 2028, 2029 UCL Finals

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has selected Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena and Barcelona’s Camp Nou to host the men’s Champions League finals in 2028 and 2029 respectively.
The decision was announced on Tuesday following the European football governing body’s executive committee meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece, with Allianz Arena awarded the 2028 showpiece and Camp Nou set to stage the 2029 final.
The 2029 final will be the first men’s Champions League final at Camp Nou in 30 years, with the Barcelona stadium last hosting the competition’s showpiece in 1999, when Manchester United staged a dramatic late comeback to defeat Bayern Munich.
With this, Camp Nou will host the men’s Champions League final for the third time, having previously staged the event in 1989 and 1999.
The stadium has undergone a lengthy renovation that is expected to increase its capacity to 105,000 from 99,354. The work forced Barcelona to play at Montjuïc for two seasons before returning to Camp Nou with a reduced capacity in November 2025.
The Allianz Arena will also host the Champions League final for the third time. The Munich stadium previously staged the 2012 final, when Chelsea defeated Bayern Munich on penalties, and the 2025 final, which Paris Saint-Germain won 5-0 against Inter Milan.
UEFA also confirmed venues for other major club competitions.
Lyon’s Groupama Stadium will host the women’s Champions League final in 2028, while the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, will stage the 2029 final.
The 2028 Europa League final will take place at the National Arena in Bucharest, Romania, while Serbia’s National Stadium in Belgrade, currently under construction, will host the 2029 final.
Juventus’ Allianz Stadium in Turin will stage the 2028 Conference League final, with Budapest’s Puskas Arena selected for the 2029 edition.
UEFA also picked Ajax’s Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam and the Astana Arena in Kazakhstan as hosts of the 2027 and 2028 UEFA Super Cup, respectively.
