Carabao Cup: Premier League Giants Enter the Fray

The Carabao Cup third round continues this week with several Premier League giants looking to book their places in the next round,

Liverpool host Tottenham today at 8:00 pm, with both teams looking to build momentum after a poor start to their  League campaign. The Reds come into the tie after a draw in their last league outing, while Tottenham will also be looking for a positive result after failing to score a goal in four league matches.

Arsenal travel to Ipswich today at 8:00 pm, looking to maintain their perfect start to the Premier League season. This match will air live on SS Action (DStv Ch. 209, GOtv Ch. 66).

On Wednesday, Man United host Brighton at 8:00 pm. United have won just one of their four league matches, alongside two defeats and a draw, and will be looking for a response.

The round concludes on Thursday when Man City host Norwich City at 7:30 pm. City remain perfect in the league after a 1-0 win over United in the Man derby, despite Phil Foden seeing red in the first half.

La Liga: Real Madrid and Barcelona Lead Midweek Action

La Liga moves straight into Matchday 6, with several of Spain’s biggest clubs back in action. Barcelona remain the team to beat after five league games, following an entertaining 4-2 win away to Levante. They have scored 21 goals and sit three points clear at the top. They host Racing Santander on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.

Real Madrid responded to their defeat to Real Betis with a convincing 4-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano. They travel to Elche on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m., looking to keep the pressure on Barcelona.

Atlético Madrid also bounced back with a 3-0 win over Real Sociedad and will host Osasuna on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Athletic Club, meanwhile, were held to a 1-1 draw by Elche and travel to Levante on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.
