By Aduragbemi Omiyale
The trading of the shares of Sterling Financial Holdings Company Plc on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited has been suspended.
The suspension was disclosed by NGX Regulation Limited through a statement signed by Bonaventure Onwuji on behalf of the Head of the Issuer Regulation Department.
It was explained that the suspension was to allow for the reconciliation of the company’s reconstructed shares on the exchange.
The registrars of Sterling Holdings and the Central Securities and Clearing System (CSCS) Plc are working closely to reconcile their books on the reconstructed equities.
To prevent trading in the company’s stocks during the process, NGX RegCo placed a full suspension on the organisation on the bourse.
“Trading license holders and the investing public are hereby notified that trading in the shares of Sterling Financial Holdings Company Plc was suspended on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
“The suspension is necessary to prevent trading in the shares of Sterling Financial Holdings Company Plc to enable the company’s Registrars and the Central Securities and Clearing System Plc (CSCS) to reconcile their books for the listing of the reconstructed shares on Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).
“The suspension is also required for the purpose of determining the shareholders who are entitled to receive the reconstructed shares,” the notice from the regulator stated.
