PZ Cussons Appoints Peju Adebajo, Sarah Miles as Non-Executive Directors

PZ Cussons Plc has appointed Mrs Peju Adebajo and Ms Sarah Miles as Non-Executive Directors, bringing international, consumer goods and digital expertise to the company’s board.

The appointments will take effect after the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 1, 2026. They will replace Mr Valeria Juarez and Mr Jitesh Sodha, who will step down from the board on the same day.

According to Mr David Tyler, Chair of PZ Cussons, Mrs Adebajo brings extensive knowledge of Nigeria, alongside international executive and listed company experience, while Ms Miles brings significant consumer, brand and digital expertise.

Mrs Adebajo is the Managing Director of Etex Nigeria, a building materials company, and has held senior positions across construction materials, agriculture, renewable energy, bedding, food, consulting and banking in Africa and the UK.

She currently serves as a Non-Executive Director of FCMB Group Plc, listed on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited, and Wolseley Ltd in the UK. She was also a Non-Executive Director of London-listed Ibstock Plc between 2021 and 2026.

Mrs Adebajo has previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Lumos Nigeria, Lafarge Africa and Mouka Ltd.

She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London and an MBA from Harvard University.

Her distinctions include being named CNBC Africa Businesswoman of the Year in 2015, receiving the Harvard Business School Nigeria Leadership Award in 2013 and being listed among Cranfield University’s 100 Women to Watch in the UK in 2021.

Ms Miles is the Chief Executive Officer of Hush UK, a fashion and lifestyle company. Her career spans consulting, consumer goods and e-commerce, including 12 years at Diageo, where she held leadership positions in brand management, strategy and innovation.

She later spent five years at Amazon, eventually serving as Apparel Director for Fashion in Europe. She subsequently became CEO of Feelunique, overseeing the online beauty retailer during its acquisition by Sephora.

Ms Miles served as a Non-Executive Director of James Cropper plc, an AIM-listed advanced materials and paper and packaging company, from 2021 to 2025. She holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.

Separately, PZ Cussons Nigeria has appointed Mr Abel Idonije as People Director, Africa.

Mr Idonije joined the company on August 26, 2026, and serves on both the Africa Leadership Team and the Global People Leadership Team.

He previously worked as Associate Vice-President, Human Resources for West Africa, at Godrej Consumer Products, after holding senior human resources positions at Reckitt and Procter & Gamble.

Mr Idonije said he was pleased to join PZ Cussons and would draw on his experience to support the company’s teams and help unlock the potential of its workforce.
