Monday, October 5, 2026, has been declared a work-free day in Kwara State for teachers to commemorate World Teachers’ Day (WTD).

The holiday was declared by the Governor of Kwara State, Mr AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, via a statement on Friday by his Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Mr Mashood Abdulrafiu Agboola, in Ilorin, the state capital.

In the statement, Mr AbdulRazaq extended his “best wishes to teachers across the length and breadth of the state whose contributions to human capital development are acknowledged at all times.”

He thanked them for their efforts and resilience, reassuring them “of his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the teachers and of every Kwaran.”

The Governor also wished all the teachers more rewarding and prosperous service to humanity.
