Ijeoma Emezie-Ezigbo Becomes VFD Group’s Deputy MD

Mrs Ijeoma Emezie-Ezigbo has been appointed as the deputy managing director of VFD Group Plc, a company listed on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited.
Her appointment was approved by the board of the organisation, according to the company secretary, Gbeminiyi Shoda.
The appointment is expected to be effective on Monday, October 5, 2026, subject to approval of shareholders at a general meeting and requisite regulators.
The board expressed satisfaction with the appointment of Mrs Emezie-Ezigbo, who is said to possess the requisite competence, experience, integrity, and leadership capacity required for the position.
It also expressed confidence that her appointment will further enhance the company’s governance framework, strategic oversight, and long-term value creation objectives.
Mrs Emezie-Ezigbo brings over 20 years of extensive experience in corporate finance, transaction advisory, mergers and acquisitions, business valuation, and strategic financial management gained across Nigeria, Canada, and the broader African market.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Marketing) with First Class Honours from the University of Nigeria, a Master of Finance degree from Cass Business School, London, and has completed the Advanced Management Programme at Lagos Business School.
The appointee is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), an Associate Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA UK), a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA Ontario), and a Certified Valuation Analyst (NACVA).
Her professional career includes significant leadership roles with Stanbic IBTC Group, IBM Canada, Canadian Tire Corporation, and KPMG in Nigeria and Canada.
Most recently, she served as Partner and Head of Transaction Services, West Africa at KPMG Nigeria.
