Ikeja Electric, Magodo Residents Sign Power Supply Deal

An agreement has been signed between Magodo Resident Association and Ikeja Electric (IE) for investment in electricity infrastructure in the estate aimed at improving power supply to occupants of the area.

The deal between both parties is in line with the federal government’s “willing seller, willing buyer” policy aimed to make residents enjoy better energy supply.

A statement from the electricity distribution company explained further that the contract was signed in line with its Premium Power Purchase, allowing the firm provide Magodo residents with electricity supply beyond the existing standards with guaranteed performance levels.

Apart from that, residents of the highbrow estate would have access to dedicated Customer Care and Technical teams for prompt resolution of queries and/or technical issues within the community.

Chief Operating Officer of Ikeja Electric, Mrs Folake Soetan, who signed the deal on behalf of her company, assured the other party of her organisation’s commitment to ensure adhere to the agreement.

She described the contract as a foremost partnership that would enhance growth and economic development within the estate.

“We are confident that this agreement will serve as a model for other power agreements in the power sector because, while it is in line with the Federal Government policy, it also reflects our unwavering commitment to our customers,” she said.

“This has also been made possible by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission’s directive to DisCos to provide an enabling environment with exceptional service delivery,” she added.

In his remarks, the chairman, board of trustees of Magodo Residents Association, Mr S.A. Owojori, commended the technical teams from both sides for a job well done, describing the development as a significant achievement in the community’s efforts at enjoying uninterrupted power supply.

According to him, if judiciously implemented, the contract will strengthen the relationship between the community and Ikeja Electric.
