Kayode Alfred Joins ThisDay Newspaper

By Dipo Olowookere

A notable society journalist, Mr Kayode Alfred, has joined one of the leading local news outlets, ThisDay Newspaper, owned by a famous media entrepreneur, Mr Nduka Obaigbena.

Mr Alfred was formerly with The Nation Newspaper, another popular traditional news platform in Nigeria, but left to delve into fashion and launched his bespoke Aristocrat Clothing line.

It was gathered that the industrious entrepreneur-cum-celebrity journalist is joining the ThisDay family as a columnist and will be reporting the social lifestyles of the rich and the famous personalities in the society.

The award-winning, dynamic and unassuming Kayode, still in the attitude of his passion for the written word, will thrill his readers with his society page called High Life on Sundays on ThisDay.

Mr Alfred started his journalism journey with National Encomium Magazine owned by celebrity journalist, Mr Kunle Bakare. While with the soft-sell journal, he carved a niche for himself, which resulted in him being poached by The Nation, where he mesmerised his audience with his must-read page called Society Watch on Saturdays.

The charismatic, innovative and very industrious Mr Alfred is one of Nigeria’s most prolific society writers that is dedicated, even obsessive, about his work even as he loathes the disappointments that at times, come with it.

His impressive career as a journalist speaks volumes and this is just stating the obvious as he has proved this over time, with his gist, interviews, articles, and stories on those who matter in the society.

The Lagos State University graduate has carved a niche for himself in this volatile industry and can conveniently rank among the best five in society reportage, and this is no hyperbole.

Though new in the fashion industry as a designer, within the little time, he has rose to the tops, rubbing shoulders with the gurus in the sector through his several designs.
