Reports from Kaduna State indicate that there were earth vibrations in a part of the state at the weekend, which left many confused and running to safety.
The incident precisely occurred at Kwoi in Jaba local government area of the state.
However, the earthquake did not take any life.
But residents of the area and its environs were left panicking and confused on what next to do.
Consequently, the state government has appealed for calm, saying it was liaising with the relevant authorities on the next step to take.
According to Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr Samuel Aruwan, a formal report has already been made to the appropriate authorities to investigate the development, report precisely on the event and issue appropriate guidance to the government.
“The Governor sympathises with the people in the Kwoi area over the reported earth tremors. He has directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to mobilise to the area and comfort our citizens,” Mr Aruwan said in a statement.
He said Governor Nasir El-Rufai had confirmed the notification of geological and emergency agencies on the incident, adding that they have been “invited to investigate the tremors in the Kwoi area and provide appropriate guidance.”
