Music streaming service provider, Playfre, has expanded its operations to the entire 54 countries in Africa just a year of its establishment.
The music streaming service hit profitability in December 2019 owing to revenues generated from its music distribution arm, Songroute.
A statement from the firm stated that its services will now be available in 54 African countries.
Before now, music streaming on Playfre was limited to only 18 African countries and before that, only to 5 African countries.
“We just crossed the milestone of 20,000 registered users and 10 million streams, so we felt it was time to expand our services to include the entire African continent.
“We did this to easily hit our KPIs. We intend to serve the African continent for now before expanding to include countries outside the continent,” co-founder and CEO of Playfre, Mr Chika Nwaogu. said.
Any visitor outside the continent of Africa is taken to the Playfre is currently not available in your country screen.
Available in 54 African countries and with operations in both Kenya and Nigeria, Playfre is an African music streaming platform that was launched on 1 May 2019. The platform offers its users access to over 50 million songs for free. Playfre has amassed over 20,000 registered users and over 10,000,000 streams.
