The value of shares transacted by investors at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange on the second trading day of the week, Tuesday, July 21 dropped for the second consecutive day.
Business Post reports that the key performance indicators closed flat on Tuesday after recording a marginal growth on Monday.
Yesterday, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) remained flat at 706.64 points, while the market capitalisation stayed static at N519.08 billion,.
But on the activity chart, things went south as the total value of transactions at the session fell by 98.8 per cent to N82,260 from N6.8 million recorded previously at the bourse.
This trend was also extended to the trading volume, which dropped during the session by 86.5 per cent to 8,365 units from the 61,480 units transacted by investors at the previous trading day.
There was also a depreciation in the number of deals executed at the NASD Exchange on Tuesday by 62.50 per cent or 10 deals. During the session, only six deals were executed by market participants compared with the 16 deals achieved on Monday.
The deals were made on four securities with FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc and Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc recording two deals each. Nipco Plc and UBN Property Plc made up the remaining as both saw one deal apiece.
The market registered no price advancer or decliner when trading activities were brought to an end for the day.
ARM Life Plc closed the session as the company with the highest volume of shares transacted by investors (year-to-date) with 7.4 billion units of its shares worth N4.6 billion. CSCS Plc was in second place with 198.1 million units worth N2.6 billion, while Food Concept Plc held the third position with 125 million units of its shares worth N88 million.
Also, ARM Life Plc remained as the firm with the highest value of trades (year-to-date) with 7.4 billion units of securities traded for N4.6 billion, while CSCS Plc followed with 198.1 million units exchanged for N2.6 billion, with Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc in third place with 8.4 million units of its securities valued at N2.6 billion.
