Unlisted Securities Market Cap Drops to N518.99bn

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange equity size depreciated on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, to N518.99 billion.

At the session, the market capitalisation lower than the previous level of N519.08 billion by 0.02 per cent or N90 million.

This was followed by the 0.12 points lost by the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI), which closed at 706.52 points compared to the 706.64 points recorded on Tuesday.

On the activity chart, the number of deals executed at the market depreciated by 50.0 per cent or three deals as only three deals were executed at the midweek session in contrast to the previous day’s six deals.

The deals were executed on Afriland Property Plc, Air Liquide Nigeria Plc, and Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc.

From the analysis, these stocks accounted for the total trading volume of 1,450 units of the day, 82.6 per cent lower than Tuesday’s 8,365 units.

These trades yesterday amounted to N108,892, 32.4 per cent higher than the N82,260 reported at the close of business on Tuesday.

Business Post reports that the midweek trading session ended with no single price gainer or price loser as prices of stocks on the bourse remained at the previous levels.

ARM Life Plc closed the session as the company with the highest volume of traded shares (year-to-date) with 7.4 billion units of its securities worth N4.6 billion. It was trailed by the Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc, which has traded 198 million units worth N2.6 billion, and Food Concept Plc, which has transacted 125 million units of its shares worth N88 million.

On the chart of the most traded stock by value (year-to-date), ARM Life Plc also held the top position with 7.4 billion units of its shares traded for N4.6 billion. CSCS Plc followed with 198 million units exchanged for N2.6 billion, while NDEP Plc has traded 8.4 million units of its securities valued at N2.6 billion.
