Two judges have been nominated for appointment as Supreme Court Justices by President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a letter to the Senate on Tuesday, Mr Buhari urged the upper chamber of the National Assembly to confirm the appointment of the two judges.

The two judges nominated by the President are Mr Sidi Bage, Nasarawa State, North Central; and Mr Paul Jauro, Taraba State, North East.

They were recommended for positions by the National Judicial Council.

Reading the letter on the floor of the Senate, the Mr Bukola Saraki, said the President made the request in accordance to Section 231(2) of the 1999 Constitution, as amended.

Mr Jauro, born on June 26, 1954, became a judge of the High Court in 1998. Ten years afterwards, he was appointed Justice of the Court Appeal.

On the part of Mr Bage, he was born on June 22, 1956, and became Federal High Court Judge in 1992 before his appointment as Justice of the Court of Appeal in 2000.
