Lagos Holds Forum On Heritage, Monument, Beaches

The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture is set to host stakeholders’ forum with the owners/managers of historical and cultural heritage sites, monuments, beaches and other attractions in the state on Thursday, October 27, 2016.

According to a release from the Ministry, the forum is organized to examine challenges and feel the pulse of stakeholders viz a viz the responsibilities of the state government through the Ministry, in preserving, protecting and restoring heritage sites and monuments in Lagos in line with the Listed Sites Preservation Law, 2011.

It noted that the ultimate goal of the State is to ensure that all heritage sites and monuments are maintained in their original state in order to remain attractive to visitors and tourists as well as historical monuments for generations to come.

The statement stated further that all relevant stakeholders in public and private establishments are expected at the forum which will hold at the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture.
