Empik Publiseer Distribution Channel

African authors are now sure of reaching a wider audience with the recent collaboration between Nigeria’s digital content distribution company, Publiseer, and the leading digital retailer of ebooks and audiobooks in Poland, Empik.

The deal between the two parties is part of Publiseer’s determination to expand its reach for the benefit of its clients.

With this development, Publiseer will be sending every ebook and audiobook on its catalogue to Empik, giving authors an avenue to reach book-lovers in the country and Europe.

Empik owns over 61 per cent of the digital-book market in Poland and this gives the over 250,000 active monthly users of Publiseer more options.

However, authors have the liberty to refuse their book being distributed to Empik upon request and this can be done by initiating a request to Publiseer to have their books delisted from the distribution list to the Polish firm.

“With increasing momentum, we at Publiseer are expanding our distribution channel, and Empik happens to be our most recent addition. We are very excited to help our authors reach an increasingly growing audience.

“At the moment, we are focused on increasing our book distribution channel, which will be followed by increasing our music distribution channel,” the CEO of Publiseer, Mr Chidi Nwaogu, stated.

“Why Empik and why Poland? Well, the Polish book market has witnessed a 9 per cent growth rate since 2020, which makes it one of Europe’s fastest-growing book markets — capturing over 7 per cent of Europe’s book market. Empik accounts for over 60 per cent of the digital-book market in Poland, which makes it the leading book retailer in the country,” he added.

Publiseer is a digital content distribution company that works with independent writers, musicians, filmmakers, and video game developers in eight African countries; helping them to focus on the creating process, while it handles the tedious but very important business of transforming their creativity into wealth for them.

Since 2017, the company has worked with over 7,000 creatives; helping them to become full-time professionals earning a living from the sales of their creative works.
