Some riders of Lagos-based bike-hailing companies, Gokada and Max, took to the streets on Friday to protest against the ban of their operations in the city by the state government.

This week, the state government, through the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotosho, announced that from Saturday, February 1, 2020, motorcycle riders and tricycle riders will no longer be allowed to play roads in 15 local council areas of the metropolis.

Today, some Gokada riders, staged a demonstration in Ikeja and marched to the Government House in Alausa, to expressed their grievance over the matter, calling on government to regulate their operations and not place an outright ban on them.

Recall that owners of the bike-hailing companies had in the past sought the permission of the state government led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to operate in the city,

Here are few photographs from their protest.
