One of the leading financial institutions in the country, Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) PLC, has sent a notice to its customers, informing them how to prevent unauthorized access into their bank account when they suspect it has been compromised by fraudsters.
In the notice, GTBank said customers can lock their accounts with the use of its popular USSD, *737# from the mobile phones.
According to the bank, what an account holder needs to do is to “dial *737*51*74# using any mobile number in Nigeria to lock your account free of charge.”
GTBank urged customers to note that they would be “required to provide the phone number registered to your account and your 737 PIN.
“Once locked, your account will be restricted from transfers and all debit transactions.
“To unlock your account, please call GTConnect, our Contact Care Centre or visit any GTBank branch near you.”
