First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has again come under attack after one of its customers died in one of its branches in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
It was reported that the deceased breathed his last on Monday at the premises of the financial institution after he was allegedly not attended to by officials of the bank.
According to reports, the yet-to-be-identified customer was at the bank to withdraw his money domiciled with the lender to cater for his health. However, he was allegedly abandoned despite several pleas from him to be attended to.
It was said that after waiting in vain, he slumped and died.
This development sparked outrage in Port Harcourt as well as social media when a video of the dead customer surfaced on the internet.
In a video shared by PUNCH, the person who captured the ugly incident was heard saying the name of the bank is FCMB and this has happened like three times.
In the video, the deceased brother was also seen lamenting, explaining how the deceased was at the bank on Friday but didn’t get access to his money till he returned to the bank yesterday.
This is not the first time FCMB is in the eyes of the storm for the wrong reason.
Recall that a few months ago, its Managing Director, Mr Adam Nuru, was accused of causing the death of the husband of the former employee of the bank.
It was reported that Mr Nuru, who has since stepped down to allow for a probe into the matter, allegedly had a romantic affair with the women and fathered her two children.
It was reported that after the husband of the deceased former staff of the financial institution got to know about the alleged affair, he went into a depression and later died.
