A tech-driven logistics company with its headquarters in Lagos and an office in Abuja, 8BM Freight, has promised to create a better social space through sustainable and climate-friendly logistics services.
The chief executive of the firm, Mr Tobi Badmus, gave this assurance at the 5th Annual Convening of Impact Investment Foundation in Lagos, which had several stakeholders in the industry in attendance, including the Managing Director/CEO of Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Mr Ibrahim Adejuwon; the SDG Impact Associate of UNDP Nigeria, Ms Fatimah Jimanate Umar; and the CEO of TAO EnergyJust Energy Transition, Dr Tobi Oluwatola, among others.
In his presentation at the event themed Sustainability, the 8BM Freight chief said the organisation has played its part in reducing unemployment in Nigeria by giving jobs to over 200 people, adding that the company has also registered over 2,000 trucks on its database and served numerous clients such as Olam, Dangote, AFEX, Nigeria Flour Mills, and many others.
Mr Badmus, who described the gathering as an amazing platform conceptualised to expand and inspire productivity and connect potential investors to companies who are willing to expand, urged participants to give investing a thought as it is “a good way to make your money work.”
The CEO, who was accompanied by a member of staff of the organisation, Ms Esther Fayati, further said, “Also, you get to know the recent concentration of the economy and companies making impacts in the economy.”
He said the programme was “an eye-opener in the sense that you get to see opportunities in everything around you,” commending the organisers for putting it together.
Also, at the event, the Head of Environmental & Social Risk Management/Sustainability at UBA, Mr Chidozie Uriel Ezike, and others discussed the importance of impact investment and the impact it makes in the current economic situation.
