There was a 0.6 per cent appreciation at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange on Wednesday, October 16 as five stocks propped the market.
The market capitalisation added N6.2 billion in value to close at N1.045 trillion compared with the previous day’s N1.039 trillion, and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) topped up with 17.68 points to end the day at 2,983.13 points as against the 2,965.45 points it recorded at the previous session.
Acorn Petroleum gained 18 Kobo to close at N2.60 per share versus Tuesday’s N2.42 per share, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc rose by N1.01 to finish at N22.01 per unit compared with the preceding day’s N21.00 per unit, and Afriland Properties Plc expanded by 82 Kobo to N18.38 share from the previous session’s N17.56 per share.
Further, UBN Property Plc gained 2 Kobo to end at N1.67 per unit, in contrast to the previous day’s N1.65 per unit, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc appreciated by 1 Kobo to N45.00 per share from Tuesday’s value of N44.99 per share.
However, the price of Geo-Fluids Plc went down by 11 Kobo during the session to end at N4.13 per unit versus the previous session’s N4.24 per unit.
During the trading day, the volume of securities went up by 411.4 per cent to 11.1 million units from 2.2 million units, the value of stocks increased by 288.8 per cent to N53.8 million from N13.8 million, and the number of deals rose by 13.2 per cent to 43 deals from 38 deals.
Geo-Fluids Plc remained as the most active stock by volume (year-to-date) with 1.4 billion units sold for N3.3 billion, followed by Okitipupa Plc with 751.3 million units valued at N7.7 billion, and Afriland Properties Plc with 296.4 million units worth N5.3 million.
In the same vein, Aradel Holdings Plc topped the activity chart by value (year-to-date) with 108.7 million units worth N89.2 billion, trailed by Okitipupa Plc with 751.3 million units valued at N7.7 billion, and Afriland Properties Plc with 296.4 million units sold for N5.3 billion.
