A deal has been signed between BUA Group and Wartsila Oy of Finland for the construction of a 48 megawatt power plant for Sokoto Cement Line III in Sokoto State.
The agreement was signed for BUA Group by its executive chairman, Mr Abdul Samad Rabiu, and for Wartsila Oy by its head of Africa, Mr Magnus Miemois, at the BUA Group headquarters in Lagos yesterday.
Mr Rabiu said the project is expected to boost operations of the company and help in achieving its quest for expanding its market share in Nigeria.
Recall that about two months ago, BUA Group announced that it had signed a contract with world’s renowned cement manufacturing company, CBMI, for the construction of a new cement line in Sokoto State.
The BUA Group chief further said the construction of this ultramodern power plant will increase the total output of the Sokoto cement lines to 100 megawatt.
He said, “We can’t compromise on our quality. We are known to provide quality products and services to our customers and we are assured that Wartsila aligns with this vision of ours.
“They have an impeccable and intimidating track record and we are confident that they will deliver on their mandate.”
