A final and binding judgement has been delivered by a Federal High Court in Abuja, directing Seplat Energy Plc to proceed with its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, Wednesday, May 10, 2023.
The judgement was given in the case involving Akinnifesi & Adelaja and Seplat Energy with suit number FHC/ABJ/PET/7/2023.
The energy company is having the AGM today by 11 am, and the court had ordered that no current or former directors, shareholders or officers of the company should cancel or postpone the meeting.
“Seplat Energy announces that the Federal High Court, per A.R. Mohammed J, sitting in Abuja in Suit number FHC/ABJ/PET/7/2023 – Akinnifesi & Adelaja V. Seplat Energy Plc has delivered a final and binding judgment, ordering the company to hold its AGM on May 10, 2023.
“The judgment further restrains any current or former directors, shareholders and officers of the company from cancelling or postponing the AGM as announced to the public.
“Seplat Energy, therefore, states that, in due compliance with the law and the judgement, its AGM will hold on May 10, 2023, at 11:00 am, as expressly ordered by the Federal High Court of Nigeria,” a notice to the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited on Tuesday said.
