A 0.78 per cent growth was posted by the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange on Tuesday, June 20, extending its stay in the bulls’ territory.
This was driven by Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc and Purple Real Estate Plc, with the former rising by N1.60 to close at N17.65 per unit versus the previous day’s N16.05 per unit, as the latter gained 1 Kobo to trade at 5.21 per share, in contrast to Monday’s closing value of N5.20 per share.
At the end of the session, the market capitalisation of the NASD bourse stood at N1.034 trillion, N8.04 billion lower than the N1.026 trillion posted a day earlier.
The NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) recorded a rise of 5.81 points to wrap the session at 747.71 points compared with 741.90 points in the previous session.
The volume of securities traded at the bourse on Tuesday depreciated by 45.1 per cent to 1.21 million units from the 2.2 million units achieved a day earlier, the value of shares traded at the session went down by 52.1 per cent to N6.67 million from the N13.93 million reported on Monday, and the number of deals decreased by 56.0 per cent to 11 deals from the 25 deals achieved in the previous trading day.
Geo-Fluids Plc remained the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 842.5 million units valued at N1.3 billion, Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc stood in second place with 630.1 units valued at N49.6 million, while UBN Property Plc was in third place with 395.9 million units worth N336.6 million.
Also, VFD Group Plc was the most traded stock by value as it traded 11.1 million units valued at N2.5 billion, Geo-Fluids Plc was in the second spot with 842.5 million units worth N1.3 billion, while FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc was in third place with 17.9 million units valued at N1.3 billion.
