The board of directors of Dangote Cement Plc is planning to meet later this month to deliberate on the financial statements of the company for the third quarter of this year.

This was the information released by the cement giant yesterday in a notice sent to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and the investing public for their perusal.

Dangote Cement said the forthcoming board meeting is specifically slated for Tuesday, October 29, 2019 and would be for the consideration of the unaudited financial statements for the nine months ended September 30, 2019.

“This is to inform the Nigerian Stock Exchange and all investors that a meeting of the board of directors of Dangote Cement Plc will be held on October 29, 2019.

“One of the matters scheduled for consideration is the unaudited financial statements for the nine months ended September 30, 2019,” the disclosure from the firm said.

As a result of this meeting, directors and other persons with sensitive information about the company have been asked to stop trading shares of Dangote Cement from Monday, October 14, 2019.

“In view of this, Dangote Cement shall enter a closed trading period from October 14, 2019 to 24 hours after the unaudited financial statements for the nine months ended September 30, 2019 are released to the public,” the notice emphasised.

“The closed trading period is applicable to all parties that may at any time possess sensitive information that may materially affect the price of the securities of the company,” it noted.
