Five price gainers extended the positive run at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange by 6.96 per cent on Thursday, October 3.

The advancers were led by Aradel Holdings Plc, which went up by N56.47 to end the session at N621.18 per share compared with the preceding day’s N564.71 per share.

Further, Okititpupa Plc appreciated during the session by N1.13 to close at N12.46 per unit compared with the previous day’s N11.33 per unit, Geo-Fluids Plc rose by 29 Kobo to sell at N3.34 per share versus N3.05 per share, Acorn Petroleum Plc jumped by 11 Kobo to N1.34 per unit from N1.23 per unit, and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc expanded by 33 Kobo to N21.62 per share from N21.95 per share.

As a result, the market capitalisation of the bourse increased by N242.18 billion to N3.723 trillion from N3.481 trillion, and theĀ NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) closed higher by 176.52 points to 2,713.98 points from the 2,537.46 points recorded at the previous session.

Business Post reports that the unlisted securities market recorded three price losers yesterday, with NASD Plc down by N1.40 to finish the day at N14.10 per unit, in contrast to the N15.50 it ended a day earlier.

In addition, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc went down by N3.04 to N44.14 per share from N47.18 per share, and Afriland Properties Plc slid by 16 Kobo to N17.34 per unit from the preceding closing rate of N17.50 per unit.

The volume of securities traded during the trading day decreased by 68.8 per cent to 6.7 million units from 21.5 million, the value of shares transacted shrank by 76.1 per cent to N145.3 million from N607.5 billion, and the number of deals dwindled by 47.6 per cent to 66 deals from 126 deals.

Geo-Fluids Plc closed the day as the most active stock by volume (year-to-date) with 944.8 million units sold for N2.6 billion, trailed by Okitipupa Plc with 750.9 million units valued at N7.7 billion, and Afriland Properties Plc with 295.7 million units worth N5.3 million.

Aradel Holdings Plc was the most active stock by value (year-to-date) with 14.2 million units worth N46.1 billion, followed by Okitipupa Plc with 750.9 million units valued at N7.7 billion, and Afriland Properties Plc with 295.7 million units sold for N5.3 billion.
