The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange increased by 0.14 per cent in the 43rd trading week of 2024, data obtained by Business Post shows.
In the five-day trading week, the market capitalisation of the alternative stock exchange went up by N1.47 billion to N1.047 trillion from the N1.045 trillion quoted in the preceding week, as the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) improved by by 4.20 points to 2,987.75 points from 2,983.55 points.
In the week, the prices of nine stocks witnessed changes, with three moving towards the green side and six tilting to the red group.
The gainers were led by Mixta Real Estate Plc as it recorded a 10.3 per cent rise to end at N2.15 per share compared with the preceding week’s N1.95 per share, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc gained 4.5 per cent to close at N22.99 per unit versus N22.00 per unit, and Okitipupa Plc appreciated by 1.2 per cent to N18.45 per share from N18.24 per share.
On the flip side, Acorn Petroleum Plc shed 21.5 per cent to end at N2.08 per unit compared with the previous day’s N2.65 per unit, Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc lost 10.5 per cent to quote at 17 Kobo per share versus 19 Kobo per share, and Geo-Fluids depreciated by 10.2 per cent to N4.05 per unit from N4.51 per unit.
Further, Afriland Properties Plc tumbled by 6.9 per cent to N17.00 per share from N18.25 per share, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc weakened by 2.04 per cent to N44.08 per unit from N45.00 per unit, and NASD Plc retreated by 2.0 per cent to N15.20 per share from N15.51 per share.
The volume of equities traded last week went down by 49.2 per cent to 7.6 million units from 14.9 million units, the value of securities shrank by 46.7 per cent to N44.81 million from N84.1 million, and the number of deals declined by 22.2 per cent to 112 deals from 144 deals.
The busiest stock in the week by value was Geo-Fluids Plc with N24.95 million, FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc recorded N9.38 million, Nipco Plc achieved N4.49 million, CSCS Plc traded N2.4 million, and Afriland Properties Plc posted N1.4 million.
Also, Geo-Fluids Plc was the most traded security by volume with 5.5 million units, followed by IGI Plc with 1.0 million units, Acorn Petroleum Plc exchanged 0.44 million units, FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc transacted 0.213 million units, and CSCS Plc traded 0.105 million units.
