It was all smiles for investors at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange as their portfolios swelled by 3.9 per cent or N57.66 billion on Tuesday, May 7, leaving the market capitalisation of the trading platform higher at N1.548 trillion compared with the preceding session’s N1.490 trillion.
In the same vein, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) rose by 42.46 points to wrap the session at 1,130.67 points compared with 1,088.21 points recorded in the previous session.
Aradel Holdings Plc was the star of the bourse yesterday as its share value increased by N220.00 to N2,420.00 per unit from N2,200.00 per unit.
Also, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc appreciated by N5.06 to end at N55.77 per share versus Monday’s closing price of N50.71 per share, and Afriland Properties Plc added N1 to trade at N13.00 per share, in contrast to the preceding day’s N12.00 per share.
Conversely, Geo-Fluids Plc lost 15 Kobo during the session to settle at N2.05 per unit compared with Monday’s N2.15 per unit, and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc dropped 5 Kobo to close at N21.45 per share versus N21.50 per share.
Yesterday, there was a marginal 2.1 per cent slide in the volume of securities traded by investors to 5.1 million units from 5.2 million units, while the value of securities jumped by 289.5 per cent to N148.8 million from N38.2 million, and the number of deals increased by 35 per cent to 27 deals from 20 deals.
Aradel Holdings Plc ended as the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 4.2 million units worth N8.3 billion, followed by CSCS Plc with 45.3 million units sold for N1.3 billion, and Capital Hotels Plc with 228.6 million units valued at N1.1 billion.
Capital Hotels Plc closed the day as the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 228.6 million valued at N1.1 billion, trailed by IPWA Plc with 79.9 million worth N40.0 million, and Geo-Fluids Plc with the sale of 77.0 million units for N185.1 million.
