There was a 0.42 per cent gain at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange on Monday, July 29, triggered by the duo of  Aradel Holdings Plc and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc.

CSCS Plc made a 50 Kobo appreciation during the session to finish at N21.00 per share compared to the previous session’s N20.50 per share, and Aradel Holdings improved by N76.30 to quote at N4,418.02 per unit, in contrast to last Friday’s closing price of N4,341.72 per unit.

On the flip side, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria lost N5.58 to end the session at N50.22 per share compared with the previous session’s N55.80.

Following this, the market capitalisation grew by N8.18 billion in value to close at N1.976 trillion compared with the preceding session’s N1.968 trillion and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) recorded an addition of 5.97 points to end the day at 1,442.59 points as against 1,436.62 points it recorded at the previous session.

Yesterday, the volume of securities traded at the bourse appreciated by 4,525.6 per cent to 5.2 million units from the 111,842 units transacted by market participants at the last session.

In a different outcome, the value of shares recorded in the session went down by 27.9 per cent to N330.4 million from last Friday’s N458.0 million.

In the same vein, the number of deals carried out in the trading session decreased by 5.7 per cent to 33 deals from the 35 deals executed in the previous trading day.

Capital Hotels Plc remained the most active stock by volume (year-to-date) with 259.6 million units valued at N1.3 billion, followed by Afriland Properties Plc with 230.4 million units sold for N4.1 billion, and Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc with the 218.8 million units worth N46.1 million.

Aradel Holdings Plc also remained as the most active stock by value (year-to-date) with 7.9 million units valued at N24.1 billion, trailed by Afriland Properties Plc with 230.4 million units worth N4.1 billion, and CSCS Plc with 102.2 million units sold for N2.5 billion.
