The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange continued its recent stellar performances as it recorded a year-best performing 19.01 per cent growth in the 35th week of trading in 2024.

The NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) recorded a 304.26-point gain to end the week at 1,904.42 points versus 1,600.16 points recorded in Week 34, as the market capitalisation grew by N417 billion to finish at N2.61trillion compared with the preceding week’s N2.193 trillion.

High-flying Aradel Holdings Plc and one other price gainer influenced the growth recorded in the five-day trading week, overpowering the losses recorded by four securities.

Aradel Holdings Plc appreciated by 36.3 per cent to close at N7,413.51 per unit compared with the previous closing value of N5,437.50 per unit and UBN Property Plc gained 1.2 per cent to end at N1.67 per share against the former value of N1.65 per share.

On the flip side, Afriland Properties Plc depreciated by 17.9 per cent to settle at N14.77 per unit versus the preceding week’s value of N17.99 per unit, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc shed 7.2 per cent to close at N19.00 per share, in contrast to the previous week’s N20.47 per share, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc lost 0.9 per cent to end the week at N47.58 per unit compared with the previous week’s N48.00 per unit, and 11 Plc fell by 0.2 per cent to end at N182.70 per share against the former value of N183.10 per share.

The trading data showed that the total volume of trades during the week fell by 69.8 per cent to 2.6 million units from 8.5 million units in the previous week.

Inversely, the total value of transactions during the week surged by 218.3 per cent to N4.25 billion from N1.22 billion, and the number of deals executed jumped by 42.86 per cent to 310 deals from 217 deals in the previous week.

Aradel Holdings Plc topped the activity chart by value with N4.22 billion, FrieslandCampina Wamco followed with N110 million, CSCS Plc Plc raked in N9 million, 11 Plc also posted N3 million, and Afriland Properties Plc recorded N2 million.

But Geo Fluids Plc was the most traded security by volume with 0.83 million units, followed by Aradel Holdings Plc with 0.67 million units, CSCS Plc exchanged 0.46 million units, FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc transacted 0.24 million units, and UBN Property Plc traded 0.2 million units.
