There was a 3.02 per cent week-on-week at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange in Week 23, buoyed by five companies, causing the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) to increase by 22.73 points to 775.32 points from 752.59 points of Week 22.
Also, the value of securities on the trading platform expanded in the week by N29.92 billion to N1.020 trillion from the preceding week’s value of N990.72 billion.
FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc was the biggest price gainer last week as its share price rose by 18.3 per cent to N104.59 per share from N88.40 per share, CitiTrust Holdings Plc grew by 5.5 per cent to N5.80 per unit from N5.50 per unit, VFD Group Plc appreciated by 4.6 per cent to N244.88 per unit from N234.02 per unit, NASD Plc also gained 4.6 per cent to close at N14.64 per share compared with the previous week’s N14.00, while Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc appreciated by 2.8 per cent to N185.00 per unit from N180.00 per unit.
However, the bourse reported a price loser in the week and it was Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc, which depreciated by 6.7 per cent to N14.95 per share from N16.00 per share.
In the week, the market witnessed a 197.7 per cent increase in the total value of stocks traded by investors. Shares worth N272.4 billion were transacted compared with N91.5 million in the previous week.
Last week, there was a 20.1 per cent increase in the total volume of shares to 12.3 million units from 10.3 million units, while the number of deals rose by 27.5 per cent to 65 trades from 51 trades.
In terms of the value of trades in the week, CSCS Plc topped with N157.6 million, FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc followed with N50.5 million, NDEP Plc posted N34.9 million, 11 Plc recorded N14.1 million while VFD Group Plc printed N7.4 million.
At the close of the week, CSCS Plc was also the most traded security by volume with 10.2 million units, Citi Trust Plc traded 1.2 million units, FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc exchanged 525,153 units, NDEP Plc transacted 192,144 units, while 11 Plc traded 78,557 units.
In the year so far, investors have traded a total of 3.2 billion units worth N20.9 billion in 1,309 deals.
