CSCS Triggers 0.95% Gain at Unlisted Securities Market

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extended its stay in the green territory as it saw a 0.95 per cent rise on Thursday, November 21, triggered by a gain in the stock price of Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc.
As the sole price mover, CSCS Plc improved its value during the trading session by N2.00 to settle at N22.00 per unit compared with the previous day’s N20.00 per unit.
At the close of trading activities, the market capitalisation of NASD went up by N10.00 billion to finish at N1.058 trillion compared with the preceding day’s N1.048 trillion and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) gained 28.53 points to settle at 3,018.83 points, in contrast to Wednesday’s 2,990.30 points.
Yesterday, there was a 40.5 per cent jump in the volume of securities traded at the bourse to 575,999 units from the 410,600 units recorded at the midweek trading day.
Equally, there was a 6.2 per cent rise in the value of shares traded during the trading day to N6.3 million from the N5.96 million achieved a day earlier, as the number of deals went up by 7.1 per cent to 15 deals from the 14 deals recorded in the previous trading session.
Geo-Fluids Plc remained the most active stock by volume (year-to-date) with 1.6 billion units sold for N3.8 billion, Okitipupa Plc came next with 751.3 million units valued at N7.7 billion, and Afriland Properties Plc was in third place with 296.6 million units worth N5.3 million.
Aradel Holdings Plc remained the most active stock by value (year-to-date) with 108.7 million units worth N89.2 billion, followed by Okitipupa Plc with 751.3 million units valued at N7.7 billion, and Afriland Properties Plc with 296.6 million units sold for N5.3 billion.
