The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange rose by 0.17 per cent on Monday, November 20, buoyed by price appreciation in the stocks of a bellwether, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc.
The market capitalisation of the NASD OTC bourse, as a result, appreciated during the session by N1.89 billion to N1.145 trillion from the N1.147 trillion it closed in the preceding session, which was on Friday.
The NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) also went up by 1.4 points to wrap the session at 846.53 points compared with 845.13 points recorded in the previous session.
FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc, the single price gainer, added N1.00 to its value to finish at N71.00 per share versus last Friday’s closing price of N70.00 per share.
The milk maker pushed down the effect of the 1 Kobo loss posted by UBN Property Plc during the trading day, closing at N1.54 per unit, in contrast to the preceding session’s N1.55 per unit.
At the market yesterday, the value of shares traded by investors went up by 4.8 per cent to N7.1 million from N6.8 million, but the volume of securities bought and sold decreased by 95.5 per cent to 121,000 units from the 2.7 million units traded in the preceding session, and the number of deals went down by 72.2 per cent to five deals from 18 deals.
When the market closed for the trading day, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc closed as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 1.2 billion units worth N22.3 billion, UBN Property Plc was in second place with 1.1 billion units valued at N1.1 billion, and Geo-Fluids Plc stood in third place with 704.2 units worth N1.3 billion.
Similarly, CSCS Plc ended the trading session as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 1.2 billion units worth N22.3 billion, VFD Group retained the second spot with 26.6 million units valued at N5.9 billion, and Aradel Holdings Plc was in third place with 7.7 million units worth N3.1 billion.
