For the third consecutive week, the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extended its fall by 3.15 per cent in the 30th week of trading in 2024.
During the trading week, the market capitalisation fell below the N2 trillion mark after it shed N63.94 billion to close at N1.969 trillion compared with the preceding week’s N2.048 trillion, and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) recorded a 46.66 points deduction to end the week at 1,436.62 points versus the 1,483.28 points it ended in Week 29.
Data showed that there were two price losers and two price gainers in the five-day trading week characterised by profit-taking due to waning interest in unlisted stocks.
Aradel Holdings Plc slid by 8.1 per cent to close at N4,341.72 per unit compared with the previous week’s closing value of N4,726.11 per unit, and UBN Property Plc recorded a 1.2 per cent loss to end at N1.63 per share against the former value of N1.65 per share.
On the flip side, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc received an 18.7 per cent boost to settle at N55.80 per unit against the previous week’s N47.00 per unit, and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc appreciated by 2.5 per cent to finish at N20.50 per share, in contrast to the preceding week’s N20.00 per share.
In the week, the total volume of shares traded fell by 97.5 per cent to 2.6 million units from 5.7 million units, the total value of stocks traded also went south by 53.3 per cent to N1.1 billion from N2.6 billion, and the number of deals decreased by 31.9 per cent to 121 deals from the 144 deals achieved in the previous week.
Aradel Holdings Plc topped the activity chart with N1.0 billion, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc followed with N600 million, CSCS Plc raked in N200 million, UBN Property Plc also posted N200 million, and 11 Plc, formerly known as Mobil, recorded N50 million.
FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc ended as the most traded security by volume with 1.3 million units, UBN Property Plc traded 1.0 million units, Aradel Holdings Plc exchanged 0.22 million units, CSCS Plc Plc transacted 0.09 million units, and 11 Plc recorded 0.02 million units.
