The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange lost 3.12 per cent on Friday, May 10 after two stocks ended on the losers’ table and one finished on the gainers’ chart.
Data showed that the market capitalisation of the NASD OTC Exchange went down by N51.81 billion during the session to N1.608 trillion from N1.659 trillion on the previous day, as the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) dropped by 37.83 points to wrap the session at 1,174.13 points compared with 1,211.96 points recorded a day earlier.
FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc shed N5.56 on Friday to end the day at N50.21 per unit compared with the N55.77 per unit posted in the previous day, and Aradel Holdings Plc depreciated by N195.85 to sell at N2,732.36 per share versus N2,928.20 per share.
But Afriland Property Plc grew its value during the trading day by N1.16 to close the last trading session of the week at N14.66 per unit, in contrast to Thursday’s closing price of N13.50 per unit.
The volume of securities traded by investors at the alternative stock exchange significantly rose by 38,567.2 per cent to 50.1 million units from the 129,661 million units traded a day earlier.
Also, the value of securities transacted by the market participants increased by 245.9 per cent to N1.2 billion from N348.9 million, while the number of deals decreased by 33.3 per cent to 42 deals from the 60 deals carried out on Thursday.
Capital Hotels Plc ended the trading session as the most traded equity by volume on a year-to-date basis with 228.6 million units valued at N1.1 billion, followed by Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc with 97.9 million units worth 2.4 billion, and IPWA Plc with the sale of 79.9 million units for N40.0 million.
Aradel Holdings Plc closed the day as the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 4.5 million units valued at N9.1 billion, trailed by CSCS Plc with 97.9 million units worth N2.4 billion, and Capital Hotels Plc with 228.6 million units sold for N1.1 billion.
