The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange headed south by 0.92 per cent on Tuesday, October 15 on the back of profit-taking by investors.
This contracted the market capitalisation of the bourse by N9.69 billion during the session to N1.039 trillion from N1.049 trillion and brought down the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) by 27.62 points to wrap the session at 2,965.45 points compared with 2,993.09 points recorded in the previous session.
The price of Acorn Petroleum Plc increased during the trading day by 22 Kobo to close at N2.42 per share compared with the preceding day’s N2.20 per share, and Geo Fluids Plc improved its value by 36 Kobo to end at N4.24 per unit versus Monday’s trading session’s N3.88 per unit.
However, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc recorded a loss of N2.10 yesterday to end at N21 per unit compared with the previous day’s N23.20 per unit, and Afriland Properties Plc depreciated by 84 Kobo to trade at N17.56 per share, in contrast to the previous day’s N18.40 per share.
Yesterday, investors exchanged stocks totalling 2.2 million units compared with the 765,981 units traded in the preceding session, representing a 182.8 per cent rise. The value of securities transacted on Tuesday increased by 24.6 per cent to N13.8 million from N11.1 million, and the number of deals jumped by 123.5 per cent to 38 deals from 17 deals.
Geo-Fluids Plc remained as the most active stock by volume (year-to-date) with 1.4 billion units worth N3.3 billion, trailed by Okitipupa Plc with 751.3 million units sold for N7.7 billion, and Afriland Properties Plc with 296.4 million units valued at N5.3 million.
Aradel Holdings Plc finished as the most active stock by value (year-to-date) with 108.7 million units valued at N89.2 billion, followed by Okitipupa Plc with 751.3 million units sold for N7.7 billion, and Afriland Properties Plc with 296.4 million units worth N5.3 billion.
