The first trading session of the new week closed flat at the NASD Over the Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange on Monday, February 17, 2020.
According to data from the exchange, the major market parameters remained at their previous levels as the market capitalisation stayed at N501.59 billion, while the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) ended at 697.67 points.
However, the activity level reduced during the Monday’s session as the total number of securities traded by investors reduced by 97.5 percent or 776,710 units to 20,353 units 797,063 units recorded at the previous session.
In the same vein, the total value of shares transacted at the session shed 98 percent or N160 million as only N2.6 million worth of trades were achieved compared with N162.6 million realised last Friday.
In addition, the total number of deals executed at the NASD Exchange yesterday went down 61.54 percent or eight deals to five deals from the 13 deals of the previous session.
The session also wrapped up on Monday with no price gainer or loser.
ARM Life Plc still retained most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 29 million units of its shares worth N18.3 million, while Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc trailed with 4.3 million units worth N1.4 billion, with Central Securities Clearing System Plc (CSCS) at third after trading 4.2 million units valued at N49.7 million
In terms of the most active stock by value (year-to-date), NDEP Plc remained on top of the log with 4.3 million units worth N1.4 billion, while Friesland Campina Wamco Plc has sold 721,193 units valued at N90.5 million, with CSCS Plc trading 4.2 million units worth N49.7 million.
