The upward trend recorded on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Monday continued on Tuesday with the all-share index appreciating by 0.39%.
The ASI, which closed at 27,925.00 points the previous day, finished at 28,034.32 points today, growing by 109.32 points.
Likewise, the market capitalisation, which closed at N9.591 trillion on Monday, recorded a N37.549 billion gain on Tuesday to finish at N9.629 trillion.
Today, Nestle led the gainers’ chart after it appreciated by N25 to end at N825 per share, while Seplat Oil followed after it added N17.50k to close at N367.51k.
Also, Presco gained N1.30k to finish at N41.50k per share, Zenith Bank grew by 49k to wrap up at N15.4k per share and Dangote Sugar picked 15k to close at N6.50k.
On the other end, Guinness shed N3.83k to lead the losers’ chart, closing at N76 per share, while WAPCO lost 91k to end at N48.9k per share and Flour Mill depreciated by 30k to finish at N20.70k.
UAC lost 25k to close at N20.80k per share, while Champion fell by 10k to finish at N2.58k per share.
There was a rush for the shares on UBA on Tuesday by investors, which accounted for 83.055 million units traded at the value of N346.236 million in 201 deals, while 18.953 million shares of Zenith Bank were exchanged in 332 deals worth N282.458 million.
A total of 234.188 million shares were traded on Tuesday in 3.335 deals valued at N2.719 billion.
