Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday presided over the first Economic Management Team meeting of President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term in office themed Next Level Agenda: Budget Issues.
This was disclosed in a series of tweets from the Senior Special Assistant to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Laolu Akande via his twitter handle – @akandeoj on Wednesday.
He wrote: “VP Osinbajo presiding over the first Economic Mgt Team meeting of President Buhari’s 2nd term, themed Next Level. Agenda: Budget issues”
“In attendance are Ministers: Finance, Budget & National Planning; Industry, Trade & Investment; Information; Works & Housing; Budget & National Planning (State) & Minister of Petroleum (State).
He also mentioned that the meeting had in attendance the Central Bank Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele; Mr Mele Kyari, the General Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC); the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Chairman, Mr Babatunde Fowler.
Others included Director General (DG) Budget Office, Mr Ben Akabueze; DG of the Debt Management Office, Ms Patience Oniha; DG of the National Bureau of Statistics, Dr. Yemi Kale and the Special Adviser Economic Matters, Dr. Adeyemi Dipeolu among others.
Mr Akande noted that the meeting opened with a review of the 2019 Budget implementation.
“Next Level now in full throttle: Nigeria is going higher and we shall deliver prosperity to our people,” he tweeted.
