Osun State has concluded plans to host an international agricultural exhibition and conference scheduled to hold in the first quarter of 2017.
The programme is a collaboration between the government of Osun State and Fesco Agalu Nigeria Limited with support from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Themed ‘Agritech Nigeria Osogbo 2017’, the event is expected to be attended by experts in the agricultural sector.
Director of Logistics of Fesco Agalu, Mrs Doris Adesanlu, disclosed that the exhibition will be another landmark in Osun State.
She said an Israeli company named Kenes Exhibition, a leading firm that specialises in organising professional exhibitions and conference including Agritech Israel with over 19 years of experience, will bring its experience to bear on Agritech Nigeria Osogbo 2017.
Mrs Adesanlu noted that the event will focus on agriculture, farm machineries, dairy, poultry, water technology, livestock equipment, agriculture processing technologies and environmental control.
“This programme is coming at a period in Nigerian history when the government of President Muhammadu Buhari is putting all its resources to diversify Nigeria’s economy from reliance on oil to agriculture.
“Agrictech Nigeria, Osogbo 2017 is a journey into the future and prosperity of agribusiness in Nigeria, a country with a population of over 200 million people and the largest market in Africa. There is no agribusiness opportunity like this,” she said.
