Appreciation in the stock prices of Newrest Airline Services & Logistics (ASL) Plc, Food Concepts Plc, and UBN Property Plc saw the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extend its gain by 0.47 per cent on Tuesday, December 5.
Data showed that Newrest increased its price by N1.61 during the session to settle at N17.71 per unit compared with the previous day’s price of N16.10 per unit, Food Concepts Plc (owners of Chicken Republic) gained 15 Kobo to close the day at N1.65 per share versus N1.50 per share, and UBN Property Plc rose by 13 Kobo to trade at N1.65 per share, in contrast to Monday’s closing value of N1.52 per share.
However, NASD Plc suffered a decline in its value by 50 Kobo to end the trading day at N12.00 per unit compared with the preceding day’s rate of N12.50 per unit.
The overpowering impact of the three price gainers pushed up the market capitalisation of the bourse by N5.48 billion to N1. 174 trillion from the preceding day’s N1.169 trillion, as the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) piled up 4.04 points to end the day at 866.44 points as against 862.40 points it recorded at the previous session.
At the market yesterday, the volume of securities traded at the bourse increased by 6,531.5 per cent to 1.7 million units from the 25,660 units achieved a day earlier, as the value of securities rose 153.1 per cent to N10.8 million from N4.3 million, and the number of deals carried out by the market participants went up by 128.6 per cent to 16 deals from the seven deals executed in the previous trading session.
Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc remained the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 1.2 billion units valued at N22.4 billion, UBN Property Plc was in second place with 1.1 billion units valued at N1.2 billion, and Geo-Fluids Plc stood in third place with 704.5 million units amounting to N1.3 billion.
Similarly, CSCS Plc closed as the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with 1.2 billion units worth N22.4 billion, VFD Group followed with 26.6 million units valued at N5.9 billion, and Aradel Holdings Plc retained third place with 7.8 million units sold for N3.1 billion.
