Despite a rise in the volume of shares transacted on Thursday, July 23 at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange, the market closed flat.
The main performance indicators of the market remained at the previous levels as the market capitalisation closed at N518.99 billion, while the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) ended at 706.52 points.
Like it was earlier said, the trading volume increased by 1,852.8 per cent or 26,865 units to 28,315 units from the previous session’s 1,450 units.
Also, the value of transactions recorded on Thursday increased by 782.8 per cent or N852,438.50 to N961,330.50 from N108,892 recorded on Wednesday.
In the same vein, the number deals executed by investors during the session increased by four or 133.3 per cent to seven deals from three deal executed the previous day.
These deals were made on three securities led by FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc and Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc, which accounted for three deals each, while the Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc ended the day with one deal.
Business Post reports that the market registered no price advancer or price decliner when the trading activities were brought to an end for the day.
The most active stock by volume (year-to-date) was ARM Life Plc, which has traded 7.4 billion units of its shares worth N4.6 billion. CSCS Plc was in second place with 198.1 million units worth N2.6 billion, while Food Concept Plc held the third position with 125 million units of its shares worth N88 million.
Also, ARM Life Plc retained its position as the company with the highest value of traded equities, accounting for 7.4 billion units of its securities traded for N4.6 billion. CSCS Plc followed with 198.1 million units of its stocks exchanged for N2.6 billion, while NDEP Plc was in third place after transacting 8.4 million units of its securities valued at N2.6 billion.
