In the 44th week of trading on the floor of the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange, the key performance indices appreciated by 0.78 per cent on a week-on-week basis.
Business Post reports that the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) gained 6.98 points to settle at 833.08 points compared with Week 43’s closing value of 826.65 points, as the market capitalisation grew by N10 billion to N1.130 trillion from the N1.120 trillion it ended in the previous week of trading.
The week witnessed four price gainers and two price losers, according to data obtained from the unlisted securities exchange.
Newrest Asl Plc gained 10 per cent to finish at N13.31 per share versus the preceding week’s N12.10 per share, Acorn Petroleum Plc rose by 9.1 per cent to close at 48 Kobo per unit versus 44 Kobo per unit, UBN Property Plc expanded by 8.8 per cent to N1.48 per unit from N1.36 per unit, and Aradel Holdings Plc appreciated by 8.3 per cent to settle at N650 per share versus N600.00 per share of the previous week.
However, FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc depreciated by 2.3 per cent to close at N77.85 per share versus the previous week’s N79.69 per share and Geo Fluids Plc recorded a 0.7 per cent loss to end the week at N2.97 per unit, in contrast to N2.99 per unit.
In the week, the total value of stocks traded slumped by 75.5 per cent to N120.4 million from N491.9 million units recorded in Week 43, the volume of shares decreased by 94.0 per cent to 8.6 million units from 143.2 million units, and the number of deals declined by 32.6 per cent to 62 deals from 92 deals.
Aradel Holdings Plc was the most traded stock by value with N55.6 million, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc traded N41.1 million, Geo-Fluids Plc exchanged N14.9 million, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc traded N4.6 million, and UBN Property Plc transacted N3.6 million.
By volume of trades, Geo-Fluids Plc led with 5.0 million units, UBN Property Plc followed with 2.5 million units, FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc posted 0.52 million units, CSCS Plc recorded 0.23 million units, and Acorn Petroleum Plc transacted 0.18 million units.
